Ridley Turner is now complete with a simple rig and environment. I will render a full 1080p video for the final presentation, as well.
I really enjoyed putting her together, as it has been a while since I've done a character. I'm happy to see my character in 3D, and I hope to make her animation ready.
Turner's modeling is complete, with a simple rig set in place for the time being. Her rig isn't made for animation at the moment, and her face does not contain blend shapes, but they can be added during my own time.
I will finish the environment to submit for the final part of this project as well as the final render.
I blocked out the hood as well as the head. I will fix the edge loops around the eyes and mouth so that they lay properly.
After that, all I have left are the hands and hair, as well as laying out her UVs, textures, and environment.
In another version of this file, I have already adjusted her arms so that they lay more naturally and can still be rigged with ease.
I've finished work on Turner's legs. The rest of the detail will be done with textures.
Work on the coat and sleeves have begun, and I will attempt to add minor detailing like the shoulder stitches in Mudbox when I am able.
So far, I am pleased with how she is turning out. When I begin to work on her head, everything will come together.
An orthographic view for my original character, Ridley Turner. I will begin work in Maya first, building the base shapes and making her face. I will attempt to work in Mudbox for more organic shapes as well as posing her.
I may make a rig for her, however, outside of Maya so that I may use her for other projects in the future.
Caution: My blog currently contains auto-play music
I will make her orthographic views so that she may be viewed from front, back, sides, and 3/4 view. I have other reference of Turner, including a full body shot, but for sake of the copyright character in the scene with her, I will not include it.
I will fix this in a future post.
